The interviewers from
Radiolab failed to preemptively view their interview from the uncle's and his niece’s
perspective. They did say that they prompted them with a statement that they
wished to discuss the controversy surrounding Yellow Rain. However, the way in
which they attacked the legitimacy of what the uncle considered to be his truth
made it evident that they did not consider their perspectives and feelings. The
uncle and niece wished to make their perspective on the Yellow Rain issue heard
because they felt that their perspective was silenced in the media. In this
case, Fact is the lab’s evidence showing that the Yellow Rain was in fact bee
feces and the Truth is the uncle’s, niece’s and rest of the Hmong person’s conception
of the Yellow Rain as chemical weaponry.
I feel like mine might be
more personal narrative if I go with the performance being a person’s from the
third world perspective on FWP and more narrative if I go with more universal criticism
of FWP…Unlike the interviewers from Radiolab, I am considering alternative perspectives.
